Passing on skills

One of my New year's resolutions was to help my partners gain skills I already have that they want to learn.
Duly, yesterday R and I had a baking date and this is how it went.
We made St Lucy buns.

Heating milk and butter so it's the right temperature for feeding yeast.

Mixing the dough

A nice dough ball ready for rising.

Traditionally shaped and ready for the oven.


Look how well they turned out! See how even the crumb is!

Date: 2015-12-22 03:53 pm (UTC)I like baking in principle, but have never tried raising things with anything other than self-raising flour or occasional baking powder; I think I'm almost as scared of yeast as I am of making my own pastry.
