So, having cycled 35 miles yesterday, I feel great today and like I want to do that a lot more often. But there's one thing that I find difficult, and it's knowing what food to eat to keep me going. I normally rely on brioche and apple sauce/pouch smoothies, and it seems to help, but if I don't eat it in time, I get pins and needles in my feet and I can't help feeling that's not great.

Colin suggested flapjacks but I'm rubbish at making flapjacks. I'm happy to practise until I get them right, though. Do y'all have any ideas?

(Also, we ran out of water despite it being a cold day and the children not drinking much, so I should take more next time.)

Cycle maps

Dear lazyweb, is there a website where I can look up cycle routes? Similar to googlemaps search, but specifically for cycling rather than walking. I've looked and looked but I'm not coming up with anything.

(Or alternatively, do any of you have good routes to Harston (where I'm sure I've been by bike before, isn't it on the way to Duxford? And it has the pub where they do the rabbit pie Jon's always talking about (seriously, he even has a 'rabbit pie' course he teaches (no, not really))) or Cambourne?)

That's Judith today, she ate an apple on our daily cycle. The expression is about normal for a ride though, with or without snacks, especially one that takes in speed bumps.

The seller were helpful and nice, and when I asked if they had more detailed instructions... sent me an email with a word document of the instructions that came in the box.

More places should be like Kiddicare and provide YouTube instruction videos. (I did suggest a video, actually.)

At least the feedback's gone from 'Difficult to put together' to 'Friendly seller, but difficult to put together', as they're clearly trying.

I bought Judith a balance bike from ebay. It came, but it needed putting together and the instructions (and spanner it came with) were a little inadequate. For example, the bike comes with mudflaps but the instructions don't.

Maybe Colin will be better able to make sense of them later.

It's this one, in case you feel you have words of wisdom.

I'm not even sure whether the bigger wheel goes at the front or the back.

Update: On further investigation, it transpires that the wheels are the same size. I may not be the best person for this job.
