Science day
Jul. 1st, 2008 03:51 pmToday was science day at school. I love science day,but it was my day off.
Benedict made silly putty and did not clone mice. This is all he will tell me,presumably in case I get upset.
Still, I bet you're all pleased I was off for science day; last year I made everyone look at my dissected owl pellet.

More on Benedict's tie
Oct. 10th, 2005 08:05 amIt seems that Jon and I both us a four-in-hand knot, and I was just paranoid about the length of his tie - also, it might be slightly too long for him, as it's meant to do the whole school and children grow considerably between the ages of 4 and 11.
Anyway, we're teaching him, and today he tied his own tie! He did on Friday, too, but there was Mass then, which means there are visitors and they have to look smart, so I retied it for him. Today it looks spectarcularly weird (I didn't even remind him what to do verbally) but he tied it himself, and he's really pleased.

If you won't answer my free software question, it's unlikely you'll answer this, but it's worth a try.
Benedict is wearing a tie to school, now. It's an optional thing, but he loves it. I got him one on elastic, and he lost it, due to forgetting not to put his uniform on at the weekend. So, I bought him a normal one.
When I tie his tie, it's really hugely long, but Jon managed to get it reasonable length. Am I using the wrong knot? A quoogle suggests that the knot I use is called a 'four-in-hand', and would seem to be the simplest one to teach him, but is there a special 'child friendly' knot that I don't know about?
