[livejournal.com profile] terryfish fed me some lovely Thai sweet potato stir-fry.

My usual attempt to sweet potatoes is to fry them with cinnamon and raisins and various other spices (depending on my mood). I've also had good results from roasting them with butter, demerara sugar, salt, pepper and sage (also works on 'normal' potatoes).

How do you eat yours?

I tend to mash them, actually. Or rather, let [livejournal.com profile] atreic do so :)

Do you think they'd work as shepherds' pie topping? Maybe if you added apricots to the lamb mix?

Hm. They go a bit mushy for pie-topping, I'd have thought. It's probably worth a try, though.

Sadly, Sweet Potato Crumble (when I couldn't be bothered to properly make pastry) was not so good.

I usually bung them in a soup with caramelized onions and the vegetables depicted in your usericon. :)

Not the most creative thing to do though, having read this.

They're also a good salad ingredient.

Sounds good to me. I hadn't thought of souping them...
