Isn't this cardigan pretty?

Shame I'm pretty certain I don't have enough of the right gauge wool. (Or do I?.... maybe I do.)

It'll go to the bottom of the list anyway. Maybe it'll be October before I get that far :)

It's not quite a month is, but never mind. How am I doing?

Summary: mostly good. Cut for waffle )

Anyone want to swap straight 3.75mm or 3.5mm needles for their dpn counterparts? Only the shippings really prohibitive on these things, and if you don't want a lot (I bought them with some others, which I ordered correctly, and some crochet hooks) it's not worth it.

No? Oh well.

Resolutions

I never used to be one for resolutions, or for new year at all - but now I have a husband and all that, and this year I was tempted by two resolutions.

Firstly, I'm giving up yarn until October. These are the rules of the diet; it's a general phenomenon, even sparking off a new community [livejournal.com profile] noyarnforayear (but I don't have enough stash for a year.) It specifically mentions sock yarn as an exemption, but I've never made sock yarn - I'm waiting to decide what I'll use instead. Also, I'm using any gift as an exemption, rather than just specifically requested ones.

Secondly, I have lots of usericons, and it's my intent to go through them all and use them all in posts. I'm not sure how well it'll work, but it's an idea.

I found the pattern again! I had a feeling it was called Donna, but searching for 'Donna free knitting pattern' just brought up the MagKnits pattern. Also, I wasn;t *that* sure of my ability to be right even when absolutely certain.

Plan of attack, then; finish B's jumper, mfinish C's, then maybe finish my cardigan r maybe make B another jumper. I should also finish the shawl I though I'd fnished then discovered I had another round of colours to do, because it was too short...

Benedict's picked out a couple of patterns he'd like me to make for him. If I could get to Arbury Court or the town centre, I could buy the yarn I need for about a fiver. As it is, I can't leave the house. Anyone fancy a trip for me? He wants sky blue acrylic dk, 500g or red acrylic aran, 500g.

Ah, never nmind, there's the postman bringing the yarn for my new top, so I'll do that first and his next.

UPDATE; he's decided that he'll have a moss stitch jumper in a sort of black with coloured flecks yarn I already had. My top can wait, he's been waiting long enough. (And so has Col, I've not forgotten, I've just lost the pattern for his jumper.)

I just got a third of a way through a top and realised I hadn't got enough yarn.

Ah well, could have been worse. Duly frogged.

At least it wasn't a complicated top.
