Today I got up early, telled for an hour and a half, voted, and knocked on a few doors to remind people to vote.

Colin took Judith to vote,and she told me all about it.

Yeah, but if you make sure to lie consistently on those electoral registration forms for a few years in advance then nobody will notice.

I told Charlotte we were going to vote on the way to nursery. She told me she'd vote for Nana and Grandad.

*nod* I voted when I was telling, and expected Colin to do the same thing. It is nice for her to see the process, I just didn't think of it.

When we came out of our polling station yesterday morning there was a school class of primary-school age kids across the street with the teacher taking pictures of the polling station (and presumably us right then). I think they must've been having a small outing to see the people voting.

That's a really good idea. Similarly, school councils, which I was sceptical about at first, really do seem to help children understand the idea of democracy (and how to vote for the best person, not necessarily the one you like best).
