...I won my Kirsten doll! Hurray!

She is a Pleasant Company (that is, pre-Mattel) doll and comes with the 'Meet Kirsten' book, and she has a blue dress, red striped apron, striped socks, brown boots and her hair is in plaits with elastics; that is, she wears her meet outfit, except the ribbons are missing. She doesn't have a bonnet, because that's in the accessories pack rather than the basic, so I might have to knit her one. This one looks good, and she could have a matching cardigan. She also needs a shawl. And a hood/muff set. Somewhere I have a book of dolls patterns - it's in the folder of patterns I use least often, and am therefore not quite sure where I put it since we moved. I must dig them out.

Anyway, on to the pictures...

I've finally cottoned on to this American Girl thing. Do you have the books? I expect you will have mentioned it already. I think I've seen some American Girl books in a friend's house, I forget which girl it was.

:) Colin was very confused, too. Maybe I should be more clear.

I haven't read any of the books, except for Kirsten's cookbook, but the first Kirsten book is arriving with Kirsten, so I'll see whether I want to read more.

I wonder whether the library could get them for me.

Well, the books are aimed at children, so it depends on whether you like that sort of thing. I quite like reading some children's books, mostly from my childhood, or if I think I missed out. The friend I mention is, in fact, 7 and shares a name with a different American girl, so she has books for that girl.
