There's a new climbing centre thing in Cambridge, Clip'n'Climb a game based fun-for-the-family place, where anyone over 4 may climb.
cjwatson,
cartesiandaemon and I took the littles there yesterday, and they were super excited. Andreas spent the night before giving me a rock-by-rock replay of his experiences climbing on the boulders at 'Alaga' and woke up really early :)
They were not disappointed. Mind, they were in the sort of mood where even the safety briefing was fun :) But there were a variety of different types of holds and walls and so on, and we most of us tried most of them but I don't think any of us did them all. Judith got to the top of most, Andreas and I managed (I think) two each, and more importantly, everyone had a great time and were pleased they went. Even me, and I was super nervous before I went. Even more impressive, Andreas was super good at talking to people. I had thought I'd probably mostly follow him around and climb stuff near him but he was totally independent.
Anyway, it's expensive but we had lots of fun and would go again.
