Judith and I just watched >Roary the Racing Car, (featuring the great Stirling Moss). It had been recommended to me by a friend with a son the same age as Judith.

Judith isn't much interested in television... she'll watch racing or Top Gear, or cookery programmes, (especially Hairy Bikers) for a few minutes, but that's about it. Of children's TV, she is only really interested in Fireman Sam and WotWots, both of which she'll watch for about 5 mintues. Roary the Racing Car? She loved it! We watched two episodes for a total of half an hour, and then she said 'again, again'! (Even if I'd had more, I would ration them more carefully than that, and in future we'll only watch one at a time.) I think that qualifies as a success, and I would higly recommend it.

Theo's quite taken with Roary although we've only got one episode on a promotional disk with one episode of Fifi Flowertot which I'd quite happily never see/hear again! We found that initially T would only watch five mins of anything max (one episode of the older Pingu series was about the limit) but as he's got older he's more likely to watch longer things but even now (at 4) he'll sometimes watch only a few minutes and then bounce off to do other things.

*nod*. I'm not worried about her TV-watching attention span, she has plenty of attention for singing/reading/all sorts of things. I just figured that that much attention implies that she really likes it.

Actually he hardly gets to see tv at his mum's now. She thinks he watched too much but he can see it lots at his dad's.

Doesn't she like The Night Garden? Luca used to although I thought it weird.

No, she can't stand it. Most of the time she'll just ignore the TV is someone else is watching, but In The Night Garden she'll try and switch the TV off.
