Mmm...cheese

Today I didn't have any cheese for breakfast, but I had a baked potato, half with y fenni and half with somerset brie and crayfish tails. Colin had cheddar, somerset brie and salami on his. Also, I had y fenni and crackers for my afternoon tea.

my uninformative what-do-I-buy answer

Oh, I didn't interpret the question as "What cheese do I generally buy by preference?" but as "What cheese do I buy for ghoti if she gives me a shopping list saying just 'cheese'?". If the question was actually the former, I would definitely buy something more interesting than cheddar!

I meant it as the latter, mostly because my shopping lists are written for me, so I know whether I mean Benedict cheese (mature (to rhyme with nature) cheddar or red leicester) or cheese for cheesecake or interesting cheese depening on what I fancy in the shop. But I thought most people whould assume I meant cheddar, and maybe buy cheddar or maybe buy something else.

Ah, but my answer to the previous question ("what do you assume I meant?") was that if no clarification is given I assume I have carte blanche and buy whatever I feel like depending on whim. Hence, I'd buy whatever I'd normally buy, and if ghoti didn't like it then she should have been more specific :-) (Not that it's entirely clear why she's hypothetically sending me out to buy cheese in the first place, but.)
