Someone recently was asking about cherry blossom. Both our local cherry varieties are in bloom now; the sweet, eating one was earlier than the jam one.
I have a blossom question of my own. I was under the impression that my greengage and Victoria plum trees should cross-pollinate. My greengage has lots of blossom, but the Victoria plum has none yet, not even buds. Is this an indication that my plum tree is dead? If not, how will they cross-pollinate if they don't flower at the same time?

(Both my blueberries blossomed at the same time last year, and this year only the one I thought was dead has bloomed so far, so maybe it's a freak something or other)
