Never heard that one before
Dec. 5th, 2008 02:05 pmI was called earlier by someone who was obviously a telemarketer. So I asked whether we had a prior professional relationship with the company (which I was pretty certain we didn't, but it was a tech firm, so not impossible that it was something Colin had organised and I'd forgotten the name). 'Our arrangement is with your PC. It's running Windows XP or Windows Vista, yes?' 'No.' 'Neither XP nor Vista?' 'Definitely not' 'I'm very sorry to have bothered you, goodbye'.
'Our arrangement is with your PC.' At least it's an inventive excuse. (And for all I know there's a clause in the licence agreement that makes the phonecall valid if I'd actually, you know, agreed to a Windows licence. Which I haven't, because I read one once and went 'cough, splutter,no'.
