Saw P.S. I Love You the other day; don't bother if you've read the book, but Colin liked it, so you might be alright if you haven't. There's a film of If You Could See Me Now in the works too... I bet it's going to have Whoopi Goldberg in. In fact, the only thing worse than having Whoopi Goldberg in would be not having Whoopi Goldberg in, and I notice the plot summary on IMDb, one line long, already differs from the novel... I doubt we'll see it on my week.
It's very rare that I read a book and think 'that would make a great movie', but I did it recently with Friday Night Knitting Club. Happily, a brief IMDb excurision indicates a US release date of 6th June. My instinct that the main character was 'utterly Julia Roberts' turned out to be correct, now I'm just hoping for J August Richards as the romantic lead, but I bet they'll go with someone older. Also, they won't change the location, because it's already set in New York (rather than Dublin).
Finally, just two quotes left to guess, one from last year, one from 1995.
2. When you're born in the gutter, you end up in the port.
11. See, ya are what ya are in this world. That's either one of two things: Either you're somebody, or you ain't nobody.
Go borrow these films from someone, people!
