Mobile phones - anecdotal evidence

So, I have a problem (many) with my mobile - the charger is broken, possibly leaving bits inside the phone; it's on Orange which is expensive and anyway, they still haven;t managed to update my name/bank details.

So, I need a new phone on anew network. What type of phone/network do you use? Is it good/bad/indifferent?
