Feb. 7th, 2004 04:48 pmMostly in the last couple of days, people have been either dying or being born. This is, well, mostly sad and happy and confusing.
Last night,
cjwatson and I went to see Sylvia which is an extraordinarily powerful film. It's very good, but I don't have words to describe it. It will reach out and pin you to seat. It soars somewhere above the world, in a whirl of beauty and comprehension. In case you haven't guessed, I think you should see it. I can't describe it, however much I try.
However, despite all the deep birth/death/art things going on in the world/cinema, I bring you this, a question posed by the film (posed, in fact, by Sylvia Plath to her future (at that point) husband.

and I bid you good day
