Flavoured martinis
Dec. 21st, 2007 08:55 pmI've been thinking about flavoured martinis recently. What makes a martini a martini? Are all these speciality things pure and simple fakes? If so, why are they called martinis?
Furthermore, I noticed the other day that everyone on the internet was drinking gingerbread 'martinis'. I figured that sounded nice, and had a go myself, but didn't quite achieve gingerbread heaven - I used Baileys, Advocaat, spices and some left over brown sugar sauce (basically sugary cream). I'm going to have another go with ginger wine, baileys and vermouth.
