I remain disgusted, as ever, at those of you who find it unacceptable for people on low wages to travel abroad. I, personally, find it extremeley encouraging that more people than ever have the opportunity to expand their education, meet other cultures or even just see their families more often. I think that the more communication can only be a good thing, whether between individuals or nations.

Furthermore, I do not believe that individuals forgoing air travel will encourage governments to endeavour to make air travel more green - I don't like global warming, but I don't really think my flying or not flying will make an impact, except in as much that flying reminds me that saving rainforest is a good idea, and also reminds the government that they need to act.


The whole 'no flights' and 'no cheap flights' mantra seems to me middle-class bigotry. If you can defend it, I'd like to hear that defense. Certainly, I don't love you any less because of it, I just think you're misguided.
