Meme about favourites.
There's a meme over at Facebook and I thought it was ripe for moving over here: Ask me my top 5 [blanks].
Anything which I might have five favourites of, fill I the blank however you want, and I'll endeavour to answer.

For sewing, I like patterned poly cotton or knit Jersey.
I love chenille but it doesn't last long.
I came to velvet late, hated it as a child, but like it for both crafting and wearing now.

1. A good fry up. Sausage, mushrooms, bacon, poached eggs, black pudding, white pudding, kidneys, toast not fried bread, I am indifferent to potatoes in this context.
2. Bananas! Just as they are, or sliced with custard, or mashed into a sarnie, or in fritters or fried with bacon and then in a sandwich.
3. Stick toffee pudding, full of dates and covered with gooey sauce, like the nuns at St Dominic's convent, Stone make it.
4. Soft boiled eggs with fingers thickly spread with butter.
5. Anything new.

Wedding ring, which matches Colin's. Even though I rarely wear it, I love that it matches and it's exactly hw I always imagined my ring would be. Plus the whole symbolism of it as the thing which Colin married me with.
My engagement ring from Jon. I lost it years ago, and he looked for a replacement at the time, but couldn't find one the same. Again, it matches his, which he keeps on his keyring, so you can take a look some time if you like. Very simple, just a twist of gold and a blue topaz, but that relationship was a big part of my life and it's a symbol of that.
My tree pendant that you gave me, it's so evocative of growing together and makes me think of you.
The pendant that matches MIL's engagement ring, which she gave me when she stopped wearing jewellery because it also sort of matches mine. I'm sorry you didn't get to meet her, she was wonderful.
(There's other stuff Colin's given me, too, and Tom, and other people, and things I have just because.)
