My plan to spend yesterday evening watching Firefly and nålbinding was slightly changed by discovering Lizzie Bennet diaries. So I did that and cross stitch, and squeezed in one episode of Firefly before Colin & Judith got back.

I'm liking Firefly a lot better this time round - in particular, and unusually for a Joss Whedon, I think the problematic stuff that people point to is mostly 'character isn't perfect' and not 'pushing an unperfect agenda'. I'm 4 episodes in, so still time for me to get bored and wander off, but this is further than I got last time.

Today, we planned to sketch in a particular gallery ofthe Fitzwilliam, which we didn't find for ages so we stuck mostly to the Far Eastern pottery gallery. But, gallery 34 turns out to be under the staircase with the mini angel of the north, and to have a selection of beautiful fans and embroidery. We are glad we found it.

Oh, and in 'go home Duolingo, you're drunk' news: Gli uomini scrivono nello zucchero. I can't imagine why.

I liked the series and the film very much, and then Ian(Euphoria) ran a game for a while. I was the Inara but male :)

The man writes on the sugar? Damn, checked and it should have been men and in. Not bad given it's over a year, but yes, a bit weird.

Was this one of the real sentences, or one of the multiple-choice answers they give sometimes? Duolingo is a really good demonstration for me of how setting questions is difficult - you want to scatter faux-amis, cognates, and things that you can only distinguish if you remember how adjectives decline, and Duolingo seems just to swap random nouns into the sentences.
