Mine too!

Me: What's your favourite animal?
Judith: [Ele]phants. Oh, and I like mine baby too.

Was she saying that she likes her elephants to be of the baby variety, or that her baby brother is another animal she likes as well as elephants, or both?

Her baby brother is another animal she likes. She tends to address him as 'baby' and refer to him as 'mine baby'.

I think the syntax is clearer if you know that Judith currently always says "mine" in place of "my".

Charles refers to my passenger as "his" baby too. "When my baby is born, I will listen on the baby monitor and tell you if it is crying."

Welcome to the world little brother, you are nearly my favourite animal. Hehehe

I always refer to 'your baby' when talking to a small child with a baby, so it's not surprising that she would say 'mine baby' (but she also says Mummy's, Daddy's and Benedict's baby, often all at once).

I deliberately used to talk to El about "your baby" both before and after Fro was born, having once read somewhere that specifically saying "yours" rather than "my baby" or even "our baby" was a helpful way of giving the older sibling a sort of proprietorial interest in the new baby, to help fend off potential feelings of jealousy (along with generally making them feel involved and part of the whole thing). I don't know whether it made any difference but El and Fro have certainly (almost) always had a good relationship, and El is still very protective of "my little brother" (sometimes in a slightly misplaced way, such as when he tries to stop me doing something to Fro that he doesn't like such as wiping his bottom or giving him medicine. Or the classic "Mummy! Give Fro a lollipop right now!")
