Thanksgiving
Yesterday was Thanksgiving in Canada. I used to do a '5 things to be thankful for' semi-regularly, well I think this is the opportunity.
1) My lovely husband, so patient and kind and handsomw
2) Three beautiful healthy children. I'm somewhat fixated on viability for number 3, but at the moment, it's doing well.
3) You guys. I have the best friends, and am very, very grateful
4) Pumpkin pie. I'm having massive pumpkin cravings, and every time I think they're subsiding, along comes another wave. I'm also wanting mac and cheese right now, but that's because one of you posted a picture of Phineas and Ferb mac and cheese, and I am suggestible.
5) My new trike. It really does seem to make things better.

I like to add bacon and mushrooms or leeks to mac & cheese. Last time I added sweetcorn, which was a bit meh. Otherwise, I pretty much make it like that :)
I use canned pumpkin. Usually I buy 12 cans in November and that lasts me all year, but last year Ocado only had Libby's, which turned out to be Nestle owned, so this year I've ordered from American Sweets, I'm not sure whether they're seasonal or not so I ordered 12 cans anyway.
I always used to buy my pumpkin in the post-Halloween sales, but haven't seen any the last few years, hence my use of cans. Apart from a brief trip to Iceland after wheelchair-shopping, I haven't been in a shop for a while... at least a month. By the time I got to the sweets I was pretty out of it, so I haven't noticed the more-Halloween. Year-before-last I bought stuff for trick-or-treaters and didn't get any, so I didn't bother last year, and did get some. Luckily I had some Penguins anyway, but this year I shall make sure I have something suitable.
