I voted for sterling silver because I have allergies. I've been told that the allergy is actually to nickel, but I don't know if that's true, so I still tend to say 'non-precious metals'.
Anyway, I find that surgical steel is fine too.

I'm another allergy person, so it isn't a case of 'would I be prepared to pay extra', so much as 'I can't buy it if it isn't'...
