There's a young lady I wish to take on a date

How do I do that? I mean, once she's agreed, what do you *do* on a first date?

I don't know.

When you've figured it out could you let me know?

depends on what both fo you like to do.
I can think of things I'd like to do:
have a picinic lunch in a park? poke around in second-hand stores and second-hand bookstores together? go see a movie? go to an art musuem? go to The Calling together?

See, the problem comes that for me, some of those are definitely non-date activities. Some of them are worth exploring, though; thankyou!

first dates - I've always liked going for coffee somewhere intimate but non-corporate like Clowns or Indigos.

I'm with Karen on this, although if, like me, you often use this as a non-date activity as well, mkae sure that they know it is a date :)

Possibly following it with a cinema/theatre trip might be a plan?

That's a very good idea. Mail sent....

Cheers, both.

Hmmm, depends what you want out of the date. I'd not consider a film or the theatre as it means that you can't chat for a large chunk of the date. On the other hand you don't want a face to face scenario in case of embarassing silences. So, some sort of activity that you might both enjoy such as a trip to a gallery or castle or something?

I don't know - I guess it's different for blokes anyway as there's the safety aspect to consider in that case.

Oooh, sensible things. And there are always zoos, zoos are good, and I'd forgotten that.

Thankyou!

Hmmm. That could be a bit political - a lot of people are against zoos. The last one I went to (Chester I think it was) seemed pretty dire, despite them being at pains to point out that they were working for conservation of species.

Not just at the moment, thanks - I ate a whole box of them last night, and it's a long way from my desk to the toilet.
