But I haven't got an MP3 player

I've got a DVD player now. It's shiny and it goes (although at the moment, I have to unplug the NTL box in order for it to go. That's not really a problem, though)

So, um, yeah. Feel free to come play DVDs at me. (The only thing we have in the house of that nature atm is Jacob's copy of Hitchiker's Guide, which means I have finally been forced to admit the existence of the TV series of same. Ah well)

I bet you didn't fall off your bike getting it either ;-)

Nope. I had it delivered instead.

Have you seen the HHG film teaser trailer?

[identity profile] ghoti.livejournal.com 2004-08-02 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
Not yet. I don't go to the cinema often though, so I'd think that's why.

Yes, from my sister.

And cool :)

We can't really play then at you, but would you like suggestions?

[identity profile] ghoti.livejournal.com 2004-08-02 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
No! I want cuddles and snuggles. Um. In the absence of that being practical, I shall send virtual cuddles and snuggles and be happy with suggestions. (My sister suggests Roobarb and Custard. I'm not so sure; I don't remember ever seeing it)

[identity profile] firinel.livejournal.com 2004-08-02 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
I want cuddles and snuggles too, quite frankly, but I'm sorry I can't give you that. If you like vaguely-accurate historical films, I was fond of Elizabeth, if you like slightly-scarey religious films, I am very fond of Stigmata, Love Actually gets my vote for romantic comedies - make sure to watch the deleted scenes.

[identity profile] ghoti.livejournal.com 2004-08-02 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
I *loved* Love Actually, and bout it within 48 hours of it coming out (the first film I bought within 48 *years* of coming out, for me). I've not seent he others, though. Thankyou!

in Elizabeth, the costumes and sets are really good, and some of the acting is OK, but the script and plot are pretty dire - it's all completely partisan, plus there are a few cheap homophobic digs in there. I'd recommend The Madness of King George for royal-centered historical drama (though I'm going from memory since I haven't seen it for years).

Are you sure you haven't got an MP3 player? Your DVD player might be one.

It is indeed an MP3 player. It is also capable of displaying a JPEG with
some knockers, if you happen to have such on CD.
