Washing-up liquid

I bought washing up liquid yesterday, a mixed fragrance multi-pack. [Poll #269053]

"I do all of it" makes it sound as if I either love washing-up or everyone else is lazy -- but in fact I just live alone :)

I'm thinking there may well arise some household arguments from this one. I suppose I should have added an 'I live alone' box, but figured the first covered it.

I just grab whatever comes to hand in thew supermarket. A bit like sex really.

I'm having a scary visual about you going to Asda now...

Well, yeah, the frozen vegetables aisle can be a bit of a problem.

Um. In the *supermarket*? You must have some very happy housewives in Coventry.

Ah, I think I was getting mixed up with the washing machines display area in Currys actually.

Yay, lots of people with hippopotamus washing-up liquid, I didn't know it was so popular!

[identity profile] valkyriekaren.livejournal.com 2004-03-26 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
I do less washing up than everyone else, but there are only two of us, and I do all the cooking, and plan the week's food, and do the majority of the food shopping. I'm not just lazy!

[identity profile] ghoti.livejournal.com 2004-03-26 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yes. I do most of the cooking, Ben does most of the other housework, and between us, the washing up mostly gets almost done.

Actually, I could probably claim to be on the middle path, because I do more than my fair share at House!, but that's still not very much.

[identity profile] enslore.livejournal.com 2004-03-26 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
The third question is irrelevant, as firstly; I am the only person in my house, and secondly; I have a dishwasher!

Gods no, not washing up arguaments. They were doom. I'm very much the sort who prefers to get on with whatever he's doing and leave the washing up for a big job with a nice sense of satisfaction at the end. [livejournal.com profile] emperor was much more oppressed by the sight of piled-up dishes and preferred to get it done sooner - but what's more, he could not understand my preferences, or even accept their validity. The latter point meant that no sensible negotiations, no trades, no I'll-do-this-if-you'll-do-that-and-we'll-all-be-happy-because-its-fair, none of that could happen, it just stayed as a bone of contention causing arguaments.

[identity profile] ghoti.livejournal.com 2004-03-26 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
*nod* I didn't think about the possible argument potential until I saw some of the answers, though, or I might have just left off that question.

I do have a dishwasher, but I still buy washing up liquid because there are items that I don't put into the dishwasher such as large pots that don't fit or special items that I don't want to risk getting damaged.

Purple is not girly.

[identity profile] ghoti.livejournal.com 2004-03-26 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It smells of flowers, that's girly enough for me.

[identity profile] sphyg.livejournal.com 2004-03-30 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine smells of herbs.

[identity profile] ghoti.livejournal.com 2004-03-30 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I was thinking it was lavendary, but a quick sniff suggests lavendar and something else, so I guess it's on the edge of the two. Fair enough.

Anything that isn't plain or orange is just wrong. I get very freaked out when my washing up tries to smell 'marine' or 'heather' or something else wrong.

It should smell of lemons.

Not sure I'm that keen on the new style bottles either, you can't build things out of them blue peter style ....

I have a dishwasher but wash some things by hand. I had 2 horrible bottles of Waitrose gel that were purple, but refused to release the washing up liquid until you'd pressed and pressed and then huge amounts came out. Just finished those and got tangerine scented one that squirts easily.

As bluerose almost always cooks I clear up and wash pans. And anyway he is very bad at it. I have to clear and wash again if he does it. He does occasionally if I am really tired.
