I'm with Karen on this, although if, like me, you often use this as a non-date activity as well, mkae sure that they know it is a date :)

Possibly following it with a cinema/theatre trip might be a plan?

Hmmm, depends what you want out of the date. I'd not consider a film or the theatre as it means that you can't chat for a large chunk of the date. On the other hand you don't want a face to face scenario in case of embarassing silences. So, some sort of activity that you might both enjoy such as a trip to a gallery or castle or something?

I don't know - I guess it's different for blokes anyway as there's the safety aspect to consider in that case.

Hmmm. That could be a bit political - a lot of people are against zoos. The last one I went to (Chester I think it was) seemed pretty dire, despite them being at pains to point out that they were working for conservation of species.
